If you are suffering from varicose or spider veins, we can provide you with the most effective and beneficial treatments, including radiofrequency and laser ablation therapy.
At our practice, our patients receive a personalized consultation so that they learn about the cause of varicose veins and opt for the treatment that is best suited for them – all in the comfort and convenience of our office.

  • Several conditions can cause the vein to stretch, subsequently causing the one-way valves to pull apart. These conditions include pregnancy, active lifestyle, jobs requiring prolonged standing and/or sitting, hereditary conditions, blood clots, even active lifestyle, etc. If the one-way valves cannot close, the blood flows backward. This is known as reflux. Reflux will result in pooling of the blood in the veins. This pooling is the reason for why you may be experiencing problems such as:
Pain, swelling, cramping, numbness, discoloration, leg restlessness, permanent skin changes and in an advanced disease, sores, venous ulcerations, blood clots and wounds that are difficult to heal.
Once you start to notice those spider veins and/or varicose veins in your legs, you may already be living with significant venous disease. With the advancement in treatment options seen today, you may experience minimal downtime with a quick recovery period.

When Does It Occur?

The condition occurs when fragile veins near the surface of your leg stretch, wind and swell. Healthy leg veins have one-way valves that allow the blood to run towards the heart against gravity. When these valves are affected, veins are unable to send blood from your legs back to the heart, resulting in a condition called venous insufficiency. Gradually, the vein becomes larger and protrude as varicosity under the skin.

Our Pre-treatment Process

First and foremost, our physicians will examine a patient’s leg using ultrasound to ascertain whether varicose vein and leg ulceration treatment are appropriate and necessary. No special preparations are required for this examination.

Radio Frequency Ablation Therapy

Radio Frequency Ablation Therapy

One of the minimally invasive treatments of varicose veins we offer is radio frequency ablation therapy. Dr. Chane applies heat to the inside of the varicose vein using a small catheter, which scars the tissue to close the vein and impede blood flow to be redirected to healthy veins. The procedure utilizes local anesthesia to ensure a rapid recovery and allows patients to return to their normal activities immediately following the procedure.

  • At the time of the procedure, the patient is asked to sign consent forms, the list of medications presently taken, and mention of any current allergy to a specific medication. The whole treatment procedure lasts for fifteen to forty-five minutes (depending on the number of affected veins), followed by a recovery period.
Step 1: The patient lies on the exam table and the area to be treated is prepped with disinfectant and dressed to keep the patient clean.
Step 2: The area to be treated is injected with a local anesthetic. During the whole procedure, the patient remains awake and aware and can provide feedback to the physician.
Step 3: With the guidance of ultrasound, a special radiofrequency catheter is directed alongside the lateral or medial branch nerves. The ultrasound guidance allows the doctor to watch the catheter while inside the vein to ensure that the catheter goes into the desired location.
Step 4: A tiny amount of radiofrequency energy is passed through the catheter to the target vein. The heat from the catheter effectively seals the vein to redirect blood flow to healthy veins.
Step 5: The targeted nerves are then numbed to minimize the pain, when these single or multiple (if required) lesions are created.

  • Radio frequency ablation is relatively a safe procedure, with minimal complications. However, some possible side effects of radio frequency ablation treatment are-
    ● Feelings of pain, burning, prickling after the recovery (usually from nerve damage)● Skin burns● Localized numbness● Allergic reaction to medication● Large or small blood clotting in the veins or deep veins
The treatments for varicose veins we offer in office have minimal and very rare complications. Should patients have any adverse effects at the treated area following the procedure, they are encouraged to contact our office for medical advice.

VenaSeal Vein Treatment

Our VenaSeal vein treatment is one of the many minimally invasive varicose vein treatments we offer in office. This procedure utilizes medical grade glue to seal the varicose vein so blood flow can be redirected to healthy veins. The procedure utilizes local anesthesia to ensure a rapid recovery and allows patients to return to their normal activities immediately following the procedure.

Varithena Vein Treatment

Varithena Vein Treatment

An alternative option to treat varicose veins we offer is the Varithena treatment. This option involves introducing a medical foam to the afflicted vein that will close the vein. Blood flow is cut off from the unhealthy vein to be redirected to healthy ones. The procedure utilizes local anesthesia to ensure a rapid recovery and allows patients to return to their normal activities immediately following the procedure.
